  1. Correct. A local law enforcement officer knows the people in his/her community dramatically better than an FBI technical officer at a call center in Clarksburg, West Virginia. And there’s nothing ominous about it.
  2. Never said that. I’m only suggesting from pulling from the records already available to the NICS database, which are not barred by HIPAA. I do believer, however, that the categories for mental health prohibitions on gun buyers should be redrawn because they are arbitrary and outdated.
  3. Nowhere near as expensive as the cost of treating gun violence in this country currently is. That’s a hollow and see-through argument.
