I’ve never seen any evidence that people were barred from owning guns between 1994–1998 because of race.

Also, you don’t seem to understand what I’m advocating for in this piece. I’m not advocating that we go back to the interim provisions of the Brady Law, although I 100% believe that the best background checks are conducted from the bottom-up (local-state-federal).

That’s certainly possible under a system where the instant check is just one part of the screening process.
